Design is a multifaceted process - this is how we did it.
We did not invent audio-based interventions. That's already well established. What we did is we managed to put it all in a very tiny form factor that's comfortable for use and build a product experience that enables users to access these interventions easily.
The tests were done on multiple layers. Comfort studies to make sure that back sleepers and side sleepers are comfortable. It doesn't disrupt sleep and it stays in the ear all night. And then we ran sleep data, implement our algorithms, heart rate and respiration and sleep staging.
Finally, we tested this to make sure that people liked to use it, how it helped them fall asleep faster. And also, several clinical studies. All of the interventions are based on science. Very big body of scientific research that shows that these specific interventions are very effective in dealing with sleep issues.
